Submission Requirements:

Who Can Apply?
Professional visual artists working in the medium of painting, who have completed a master's degree in fine arts from a recognized university (5–6 participants).(Picasso Pupils reserves the right to modify the final number of participants.)
There is NO ENTRY FEE.
Application Deadline: 22nd February 2025
Notification of Selection:
Selected artists will be notified as soon as possible, but no later than 22nd March 2025 via email.
Confirmation of Participation:
Selected artists will have up to 48 hours to confirm their participation.
Artists‘ POINT 2025
International Art Residency in Meghalaya, India

I N T R O D U C T I O N:
The art residency program will bring together professional artists from around the world to the rural region of Meghalaya, North-East India, for one month. This residency offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the untouched beauty of nature, explore mysterious monoliths and root bridges, experience the rich traditional culture of this scenic hill region, and share expertise in creative thinking through organized group workshops for school children.
C O N T E N T O F A R T R E S I D E N C Y P R O G R A M
The artists will have the opportunity to explore the authentic culture of Meghalaya. They will visit the famous root bridges as well as places that remain hidden from tourists. They will experience the spirit of the Sacred Forest and interact with local people deeply rooted in traditional lifestyles.Artists will be given time for individual contemplation and the creation of their artworks in a studio space located near their accommodation. Interaction between the invited artists and local artists from Meghalaya is anticipated. Additionally, the artists will share their knowledge through organized workshops for local schools.
At the end of the residency program, a final exhibition will be held, where each artist will present the artworks created during the residency and share their experiences with the invited guests.
A R T R E S I D E N C Y W I L L P R O V I D E:
Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided at a resort on the outskirts of Shillong City. Two artists may share one room with an attached bathroom.
Studio Space: Studio space will be located near the accommodation premises. Artists can also use the study area, balcony, and terrace of the guesthouse for their work.
Art Materials: Canvas and acrylic colors will be provided. Participants are required to bring their own brushes and other painting tools.
Food: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided at the Residency premises and during workshops for schools. Food expenses during outing trips will be borne by the participants.
Trips: Organized trips will include visits to root bridges, caves, waterfalls. Transportation during these trips will be provided.

Artwork Donation:
Participating artists are required to donate two of their artworks created during the residency program (each approximately 100 x 80 cm) to the Artists’ POINT art collection. These artworks will be showcased in international art exhibitions organized by Picasso Pupils. https://www.picassopupils.com/exhibitions
Use of Documentation:
The Artists’ POINT art residency reserves the right to use any documentation (video, audio, photographs) produced during the art residency for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the website, social media, and exhibitions organized by the Picasso Pupils international art community. Artists retain all ownership rights to their images submitted in their portfolio and photos taken during the residency program. However, organizers reserve the right to use these images for promotional purposes, including on the website.
Materials: Artists are expected to bring all painting materials not provided by the organizers.
Workshops for Youth:
All artists in residence are expected to participate in organized creative workshops for local schools and youth during the residency. Artists’ POINT plans to conduct workshops twice a week, focusing on creative learning and motivational art activities for school and pre-school children. As the residency emphasizes community contribution, artists are encouraged to propose innovative workshop ideas as part of their project concept.
Digital Presentations:
Artists must prepare a digital presentation (PowerPoint or JPG files saved in order on a pen drive) of their most important artworks and achievements, to be presented during the introduction session.
Food During Trips:
Food expenses during trips outside the residency campus will be borne by the participants. However, the organizers will arrange the best and most suitable restaurants at the destination.
Travel Expenses:
Participating artists are responsible for their transportation costs from their home country to Guwahati International Airport (GHY), the closest international airport to the residency and back. Organizers will assist in arranging suitable airport pickup and drop-off services.
Residency Period:
Participating international artists are required to attend the residency for its full duration, from arrival on 3rd May 2025 to departure on 1st Jun 2025.
Cooperation and Adaptability:
Participants are expected to cooperate and contribute to maintaining a friendly and supportive atmosphere during the residency. In case of technical or logistical challenges, we request patience and understanding. While some luxury needs may not be met, these will hopefully be offset by the extraordinary ethnic and cultural experiences the residency offers.
